With the help of Claude i have a HTML script coded database currently sitting on tiinyspce. But it doesn’t save any data. I was told that I could set up a google workspace and copy the script into a sheet and it will look like the database but save. This was incorrect and now I have google workspace and no functioning database that saves info still. I need help, I’m a charity and I’ve already spent money trying to get it up and running that was more than I had…. I really need someone who knows about this stuff to help 🙏🏼 please. NOTE - THE BUDGET IS ARBITRARY - THE TASK IS LARGE SO NEGOTIABLE. My Zotero library has exploded to roughly 190 000 items because of repeated sync errors. I want to restore it in three clearly separated stages so progress is easy to track and roll back if needed. Stage 1 – Deduplication Run an automated script to flag obvious duplicates, then manually review the flagged set to make sure nothing unique is lost. I expect the final item count to reflect only true, single-instance entries. Stage 2 – Correct Item Types Once the set is clean, every record needs its Item Type updated by hand so books become “Book,” journal articles “Journal Article,” etc. I will provide a short reference sheet; the assignment itself must be done manually so odd formats are caught correctly. Stage 3 – Metadata Completion The remaining PDFs lack reliable metadata. The bulk of the sources are legal materials - including historic materials. A basic familiarity of the various types of legal sources is required and ideally a familiarity with the various metadata fields for such sources. Preferred tools and skills • Deep familiarity with Zotero’s desktop client and sync functions • Scripting ability (Python/JavaScript) for the automated part of Stage 1 • Patience and accuracy for large-scale manual work • Experience harvesting metadata from academic sources Deliverables for each stage • Updated Zotero .sqlite database (or a full library export) • Brief changelog summarising actions taken and final record count • For Stage 3, a report of sources used for any metadata filled manually I will review and sign off on each stage before we proceed to the next.
