I’m looking for a graduate residential draftsperson, graduate building designer, or emerging designer to help develop concept plans for compact residential projects in South Australia. This is NOT an architect role. Applicants must have completed, at minimum: - Certificate IV in Residential Drafting or equivalent residential drafting/building design qualification. Please note: I’m specifically looking for someone with formal residential drafting training, not purely hobby-based design or visualisation experience. Strong preference for someone with SA residential drafting familiarity, ideally including Adelaide Hills projects. I’d especially love the opportunity to support fellow women in the construction industry and encourage women to apply. My goal is to create smaller, smarter homes that are attractive, functional, and cost-aware without unnecessary expense. The first concept will likely involve: - 3 bedroom - 2 bathroom - single living area - garage/carport - efficient footprint - strong street appeal Initial scope: - 1 concept floorplan - basic site layout - 1 simple front elevation I come from a design-oriented background and will provide inspiration, direction, and concept input throughout the process. I am looking for a practical, fair-priced Building Designer / Architectural Draftsperson (Domestic Class 1) to assist with a small initial schematic design task for a small rural residential project in regional NSW. The immediate task is for schematic plans only for a small project consisting of: • x2 small “pods” approximately 6m x 3m each • a few small outbuildings / sheds • plotting onto an existing site plan The project involves transportable / modular building components to create a compliant small Class 1a dwelling. At this stage, I am only seeking schematic concept plans, however there may be the opportunity for further work (working drawings / approvals) for the right person. Preferred experience: • Small rural residential projects • Transportable, modular or non-standard buildings • Practical, simple and cost-conscious builds Preferred (though not essential for this initial task): • Active NSW registration • PI insurance • Experience preparing working drawings to approval stage I am looking for someone friendly, practical, down-to-earth, and solutions-focused — ideally someone who enjoys finding sensible, affordable ways to make projects work.
