I have new lounges and need help picking a rug. I don’t want to change any of the large furniture but I want to elevate the space. Keeping in mind I have a baby so I don’t want knick knacks and hazards but I hate how flat it all looks currently and i think its because of the rug. I love the modern moody chocolate deep brown trends happening now but unsure it would suit my space and existing pieces. Please give me your honest opinion on rug choices, examples online and any other advice about my living dining area. Fyi the lounges are the Aretha fabric from Amart in Oyster. Also, I currently don’t have a coffee table so open to suggestions for that, needs to be baby friendly. If you can mock it up, even better.

INTERIOR DESIGNER NEEDED We have a space downstairs that we want redesigned and styled. We want someone to design the layout of furniture and then also send me the list of places to purchase and guide for this. We want to use Australian companies like temple and Webster and ikea etc We don’t want to spend too much on the furniture - aim is for a high end look but at budget price. Adding LED strip lighting around the place may help achieve this. A Rendered rough photo would be good too which shows exactly where things will go and how it’ll look. We tried using Chat GPT but kept screwing up. 1. You cannot block the doors. There is 2 standard doors (to toilet and store room) AND large sliding door at entry 2. We want the space to feel like a high end hotel but budget friendly. Not a feature area of our home BUT we could use it for meetings with clients and for training with staff. It’s also used for a guest bedroom 3. We need it to have a sofa bed 4. Space should have a long desk (that fits two people and screens) 5. Could have a tv but would make sense for this to be near the sofa 6. Happy for any other furniture pieces to be included to style it too look good. 7. Ceilings are only like 1.9m high 8. Probably 3 zones.

Looking for an experienced building designer / draftsman to advise and prepare concept plans for a possible granny flat, extension, or ancillary living space on a rural property at Aratula QLD, Scenic Rim Council area. The goal is a basic, good-value family living space with privacy and separation from the existing Dixon home, without overcapitalising or triggering unnecessary DA/council complications if avoidable. We are considering: * granny-flat-style detached option; * renovation or extension to the existing house; * attached or breezeway-connected option; * suitable off-the-shelf plans if they can be adapted. Preferred requirements: * two bedrooms, same/similar size, each suitable for a queen bed; * one bathroom with bathtub; * open living/kitchen/dining area; * good living space for modern use, including gaming/TV; * open feel but with ability for some privacy/time out; * simple practical finishes, not luxury.
