Looking for an experienced handyperson, carpenter, or builder to install two fixed wall-to-wall shelves in a brick laundry recess (approx. 194 cm wide × 50 cm deep). Specifications: • Location: Annandale 2038 / Inner West Sydney • Recess width: 194 cm • Shelf dimensions: 2 × 193 cm (L) × 50 cm (D) plywood shelves • Wall type: Double brick on sides and rear • Support type: • Option 1: Galvanised steel angle brackets • Option 2 : 70 × 35 mm pine cleats on both sides (and optional front stiffener) • Fixings: Masonry screws or coach screws into brick (no mortar) • Finish: Clear polyurethane (already done prior to install) ⸻ What’s Required: • Bring your own drill, masonry bits, level, and fixings • Accurately measure, level, and install side cleats or angles • Secure shelves in place (2 total) • Leave site clean and tidy ⸻ I’ll Provide: • Cut plywood shelves (193 × 50 cm, sealed) • Pine cleats or steel angle (depending on agreed option) • Screws for securing shelf to supports • Parking available; easy access ⸻ Preferred Experience: • Carpentry or handyman experience with brick wall installations • Confident drilling into masonry and levelling shelves • Clean, precise work ⸻ Budget: Approx. $100–$150 labour depending on materials supplied and scope. Please include your experience, availability, and whether you’d prefer to supply fixings. Shelves will be used for storing camping gear and household items, so they need to be strong, level, and securely fixed into the brick walls. I’ve prepared a full plan and diagram showing dimensions, fixings, and materials. Materials can be supplied by me, or quoted by you - whichever is easier.
