Looking for ways to make the most of the Easter long weekend? From family-friendly adventures and artsy outings to a night out with mates, there’s definitely something for everyone!
Here are a few ideas to help you soak up all the Easter festivities.
Have an outdoor picnic
Take your usual brunch plans up a notch this Easter and opt for an outdoor picnic with loved ones! Savour the fresh air and scenic views at some of the best picnic spots, like the Royal Botanic Gardens and Centennial Parklands.
No time to prep for brunch? Go ahead and have takeaway delivered so you can enjoy your favourites hot and fresh!
If you prefer to go old-school, have someone pick up and deliver groceries to your doorstep and stock your picnic basket with fresh fruits, pastries, and maybe even some Easter-themed treats.
Scavenge for Easter eggs
Easter wouldn’t be complete without an Easter egg hunt. Take the kiddos to The Grounds of Alexandria for an egg-citing adventure!
Running from 18-20 April, this magical morning event lets kids 12 and under explore the garden in search of hidden mini chocolate eggs, with plenty of Easter cheer along the way.
Keen to stay at home? Organise an egg-hunting activity from your living room or backyard; it will be as fun!
Solve an escape room
If chocolate doesn’t appeal to your sweet tooth, you can hunt down clues in Escape Hunt, an interactive, super-sleuthing detective game! Uncover mysteries and solve riddles as you clamour through the twists and turns of the historic Rocks district.
Delve into DIY
It turns out that Easter isn’t just about hot cross buns—it’s also peak DIY season. According to Roy Morgan, 6.2 million Aussies plan to tackle home projects over the break, spending $6.7 billion nationwide. That’s an average of $1,082 per person—up 27% from last year!
Whether sprucing up the garden or finally fixing that wobbly shelf, this long weekend is the perfect time to tick off your to-do list.
Need help with your DIY project? You can always post a handyman task to save time.
Visit the museum
Discover the future of Australian art at ARTEXPRESS 2025! On show from 6 February to 27 April at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, this free exhibition showcases outstanding artworks by Year 12 Visual Arts students from across the state.
From ceramics to digital media, the diverse pieces offer a glimpse into the minds of emerging artists tackling themes like identity, environment, and society.
Enjoy a night out
Looking for a lively way to cap off your Easter long weekend? Big Night Out’s Pub Crawl offers a vibrant nightlife experience. Their Easter Pub Crawl features visits to four top venues in the CBD, each with express entry and a complimentary drink.
With party hosts, games, prizes, and a retro-themed finale at Side Bar, it’s ideal for those eager to meet new people and enjoy a festive evening!
Celebrate Easter the way you want to!
You’re all set for an epic Easter long weekend! With everything from egg hunts and art shows to sunset picnics and DIY projects, there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of the break.
So gather your crew and enjoy everything the city has to offer. And in case you need an extra set of hands to get more done this weekend, Taskers are just a post away.
We at Airtasker wish you a very happy Easter!
Hi all at Airtasker and fellow Airtaskers.
I joined on 1 February 2014 and have completed 134 tasks for 117 reviews. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed performing these tasks with the flexibility it gives me for choosing what I want to do. The majority of these have been in the Sydney area.
As I have now moved to Umina Beach on the Central Coast (80 kms north of Sydney) I would like to see some form of AT promotion in this area. This area has a population of 350,000 people and 100 + “suburbs”.(as advised by Gosford Council).
I am sure many people in this area have the same need for “casual workers” as Sydneysiders do. The trick is to let them know about the availability of AIRTASKER.
I’d be delighted to assist with any promotional work on the Central Coast — who am I — check the front page of the May 8tjh 2014 Sydney “North Shore Times”
