Finance & Legal

Our team’s role in Airtasker's mission is…

There are three parts to us: Legal, Reporting and Compliance (R&C) and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A). Together we make up the critical functions within Airtasker's financial and legal landscape. We’re the ones who make sure the architecture and implementation of the company mission are carried out in a responsible and compliant manner. No funny business here, just some dad jokes.

People know us as the custodians of Airtasker’s financial resources and are trusted advisors to internal management and external stakeholders. Decision-making doesn’t go ahead without us!

Our team’s ways of working are…

Here’s how we get stuff done! The legal team efficiently manages legal and regulatory compliance across the businesses in a practical and commercial manner that is capable of scaling to an evolving future state.

Collaboration, dedication and celebration are what we are. Though small in size, we come together with purpose and collaboration to ensure optimal decision-making outcomes for Airtasker.

Where do we work? Well that’s flexible. We see each other in real life twice weekly. While we love to see each other in the office, we also respect the need for individual focus time. We also love lunch and learn sessions to share knowledge.

What makes our team awesome to work in is…

People think finance and legal are boring. Think again.

We’re a social (but not too crazy) bunch who love working on problems big and small. One day, it could be supporting the exploration into new growth opportunities. The next, it could be working with the business on deep diving into variances.

We like to view things holistically, and acknowledge the need to balance efficiency with excellence.

We love what we do and value each and every team mate's contribution. We never forget to have fun and celebrate our wins.

Lisa A.

What began as a side hustle soon became an “accidental” business. After years in a corporate job she didn’t enjoy, Lisa took a friend’s advice and joined Airtasker in 2017.
She took on gardening jobs, using her skills as a qualified horticulturist, with her very first task involving planting and weeding for a client, whom she is now good friends with and still works for nine years later.
Lisa says Airtasker gave her direction when she felt stuck, helping her turn practical skills into a career she truly loves.
