As more Australians look for flexible ways to earn extra income, Airtasker recognises eight locals across every state who’ve made it work – including a National Winner who accidentally built an eight-year gardening career and an ACT removalist who earned over $9,000 in a single month.
With living costs rising 1.5% in the 1st quarter alone and household budgets under pressure, thousands of Aussies are turning to skills-based work that fits around their lives. For many, local services marketplace Airtasker has become the answer, and today the platform announces its Top Tasker Awards, recognising eight exceptional locals building income on their terms.
Now in its 4th year, the Top Tasker Awards spotlight Taskers who have built outstanding track records through consistently excellent service, five-star customer ratings, and a commitment to going above and beyond for every task. Winners are selected from across Australia for their reliability, quality of work, and positive impact on their communities, whether as a side hustle or a full-time career.

Let’s get to know our top Taskers below!
Australia’s Top Tasker of the Year, 2025: Lisa Abblitt

Since joining Airtasker in 2017, qualified horticulturist Lisa has transformed a corporate career she didn’t love into a thriving gardening business – one task at a time. Her first client, a planting-and-weeding job, remains a close friend and regular customer nine years later.
That lasting relationship exemplifies Lisa’s approach: combining professional expertise with genuine care that turns one-off tasks into enduring partnerships. What started as a workmate’s suggestion became proof that Airtasker can offer more than income – it can provide direction, purpose, and a career worth building.
NSW Top Tasker of the Year: Marc Sophocleous

Marc joined Airtasker in September 2024 after his family’s online retail business began to slow due to the rising cost of living. With a background in building and hands-on work, he turned to Airtasker to pick up steady handyperson jobs when work from his existing clients dropped off. His very first task was a cleaning job to get a feel for the platform before moving fully into handyperson work.
Marc now uses Airtasker alongside his own client base, taking on everything from general handyperson tasks to building sheds, a skill that often surprises people. Airtasker has helped Marc stay financially steady during a tough period, giving him the freedom to choose his tasks, quote what suits him, and work when it fits his life.
One of his most memorable moments was assembling a bed for a young woman supported by a major charity, where he went above and beyond to make her home safer and more comfortable.
VIC Top Tasker of the Year: Stuart Olney

Airtasker helped Stuart through a tough personal period, giving him extra income when he needed it most and something positive to focus on. With four young kids, rising living costs, and full-time work as a registered nurse, Stuart needed flexibility.
He joined Airtasker in May 2024, turning his basic gardening skills into a growing side hustle that could fit around his nursing shifts. His first job was a $90 garden clean-up for a client named Mish, whom he still looks after today.
Stuart now takes on lawn mowing and gardening jobs anywhere from 2-10 times a month, building a strong reputation through friendly customer service and consistent five-star reviews.
SA Top Tasker of the Year: Troy Moss

After being made redundant from his shift-work job in 2015, Troy needed work fast and jumped straight into Airtasker while looking for his next full-time role. His first task was assembling a trampoline at a family home.
Nearly ten years later, Troy completes 2-3 tasks a week as a strong side hustle, earning an average of $2,000 a month. He mainly does handyperson jobs like TV installs and furniture assembly – skills he taught himself along the way. The income has helped him pay down his mortgage faster, while meeting people in their homes has built his confidence.
ACT Top Tasker of the Year: Dennis Maddock

Dennis joined Airtasker 10 years ago and has turned it into a strong side hustle alongside his full-time role as a project manager. Based in the ACT, he mainly takes on furniture removals and driving jobs, including transporting people and driving minibuses for events.
He usually completes 2-3 jobs a week and recently earned over $9,000 in just 30 days, making him one of the platform’s high performers. What started with no big expectations has become a key part of his working life.
Airtasker gives Dennis the flexibility to earn extra money when he needs it, travel to different areas, and meet new people. Some of his most memorable jobs include driving wedding parties on their big day, a role he says is both unusual and rewarding.
WA Top Tasker of the Year: Michael Lutz

After working traditional 9-5 roles in accounting and at a Woolworths warehouse, Michael wanted more control over his time and how he worked. A chat with a colleague led him to Airtasker, and it gave him the flexibility he’d been looking for. Michael now focuses on gardening jobs like lawn mowing, clean-ups and hedge work, with lawns being his favourite.
Stepping away from full-time work has changed his life financially, letting him earn more when he needs to, and personally, giving him the freedom to choose his own hours. He loves meeting new people, taking on extra work when it suits, and building a career he genuinely enjoys.
NT Top Tasker of the Year: Genevieve Keogh

Genevieve joined Airtasker in early 2024 after she decided to stop waiting for the “perfect” full-time role and start building something of her own. While she had been freelancing, the income was unpredictable, and she needed a reliable way to cover bills while investing in her long-term goal: launching a marketing agency in the booming health and wellness sector.
Using Airtasker, she picked up flexible jobs such as furniture assembly, TV mounting, and moving to build a steady income. Then she began offering higher-value digital services she loved: setting up Notion systems, building ClickUp workflows, and creating automated email sequences and marketing funnels for small businesses, earning between $100 and $400 per task.
That consistent extra income became what she calls “rocket fuel,” funding everything from website hosting and design tools to ads, courses, and her first CRM – all without going into debt.
QLD Top Tasker of the Year: Josh Brown

After starting his own law firm at the beginning of 2025, Josh joined Airtasker to help get the business off the ground, using the platform to bring in steady work like employment contracts, building contracts and loan documents when he needed income most. What he thought would be a once-or-twice-a-month side gig now makes up almost half his workload, helping him build momentum without dipping into savings or taking on debt.
Before launching his firm, Josh worked on a farm and previously worked at another law firm. His very first Airtasker job was a complex procedural classification task for the Public Service Commission, a challenging start that proved his skills straight away.
One of his most memorable tasks was reviewing an employment contract and spotting unusual clauses that could have seriously harmed the employee if left unchecked. Josh loves being able to offer credible, experienced legal help on a platform where many people are unsure who to trust, and knowing his work can genuinely protect people when they need it most.
