Cleaning tells a similar story. Despite being one of Newcastle’s trending categories, its assignment rate ran about 20 percentage points below assembly in Q2 2026. Removals also has room to grow, though it’s closing the gap fastest as its assignment rate improved more than any other non-assembly category.

Rubbish removal: What’s being hauled in Newcastle?
Rubbish removal offers another snapshot of what Newcastle households are clearing from their homes and properties. Boxes and cardboard were the most commonly mentioned waste types, followed by renovation debris, suggesting that many jobs are tied to moving, home improvement or property clean-outs.
Old furniture was also common, along with mattresses, appliances, and general household rubbish. Looking broadly, the mix shows how Taskers are helping residents clear unwanted items during different stages of a home transition.
Removals: What does moving look like in Newcastle?
Removals might sound like a job reserved for moving house, but Newcastle’s task data tells a different story. Most assigned removal jobs in Newcastle were on the smaller side, with 33% falling between $100 and $199.
