This is all about you making dough (and no we’re not exclusively talking about bread). Read on for our top-est of top tips.
Win more tasks with these tips
So you see a task (or 27) you can do. Fantastic, now what?
Here’s what might be happening. There are lots and lots and lots of tasks Customers have posted. You think, “Great, let’s make heaps of offers, cross my fingers and hope for the best.” Well, there’s a bit more to it than that. Following these tips can help you win more tasks (without any finger crossing).
Just like how you want to know the details of a task, Customers want to know the details of you as a Tasker. Are you a bread enthusiast? An accountant? A ninja hedge trimmer? An eagle-eyed cleaner? Whatever your superpower, below are a few tips on what to make sure your profile shows
Your verifications
Any relevant ID, qualifications and licences. Add your first verified badge here
Your headshot
Your picture (of your face, to be clear). You’ll be 10% more likely to win work if you use a front-facing headshot. Facts.
Talk about your previous work experience in your bio, and if you have any photos to show off your work, even better. Build out your profile here
TIP 02
Make high quality offers
Now you’ve got a shiny A+ profile. Let’s go back to all the tasks you can do. What’s next?
Make offers! Lots of them. In fact, on average it takes 10 offers to every task that you win. The key is to make sure they’re quality offers
Keys to a quality offer
State your availability
That means only making offers if you know you’re available and able to do them. Give the customer confidence by sharing your availabilities
Personalise your offer
Send a personalised message. Be specific in what you can offer and bring. No secrets!
Understand the scope
Make sure you know the details and detailed scope of the task so you can offer the amount you’re willing to get paid for the task. Keep asking questions if you need more info.
Quote a reasonable price
Price fairly and accurately, and explain to Customers what’s involved in completing the task.
Don’t know what price to offer? Average pricing can be found here but it’s up to you overall to decide with the Customer.
Find the tasks for you
Sharp pricing is good but isn’t everything. If a task’s budget is too low for the skills you can offer, you can redirect your focus to another task.
Understand your earnings
Get familiar with how fees work. Watch the video above to understand more about how tiers work, and learn more here.
TIP 03
Confirm the details and plan ahead
Let’s pretend that a Customer has now assigned you a task, nice! What’s the plan of action?

Reliability matters

If the scope of the work isn’t as described, feel empowered to re-negotiate with the Customer through Airtasker. Remember, you can say no to unreasonable requests.
TIP 04
Provide a five star quality service
Time to get the task done!
Here’s where your superpower can shine. Everything’s basically sorted now and all that’s left to do is the task.
Things that’ll make you and the Customer happy:
Communication
Communication, communication, communication. We might be borderline nagging but it’s important that everyone’s on the same page
Be on time
Show up on time. No worries if you need to change the time, just let them know ASAP and agree on a new one that works for the both of you.
Share the progress
Let the customer know the progress of the task.
Once you’ve completed the job, let the customer check and confirm they’re happy with it. Take some final snaps of your work to upload to your portfolio for new customers to see.
TIP 05
Request payment when the task is done
The exciting part… getting paid.
Kachiiiiiiiing!

Lisa A.
What began as a side hustle soon became an “accidental” business. After years in a corporate job she didn’t enjoy, Lisa took a friend’s advice and joined Airtasker in 2017. She took on gardening jobs, using her skills as a qualified horticulturist, with her very first task involving planting and weeding for a client, whom she is now good friends with and still works for nine years later. Lisa says Airtasker gave her direction when she felt stuck, helping her turn practical skills into a career she truly loves.
