In partnership with environmental advocacy group Heal the Bay, Airtasker participated in monthly beach cleanups in Los Angeles to promote clean coastal waters and safe watersheds.
This year’s Earth Day theme is “Planet vs. Plastics,” which advocates reducing single-use plastic waste to help eradicate water pollution. This campaign includes the Great Global Cleanup, where volunteers all over the world organize community cleanups in public locations.
Airtasker took part in this worldwide event through its recent beach cleanup initiatives. A total of 26 Taskers gathered along the coastline, helping remove over 75 gallons of trash!
Although keeping shorelines clean is one way to give back, not all live in coastal areas. Fortunately, others can contribute even from the comfort of their homes by doing Earth Day tasks such as recycling and building compost.
