Fred did a great job. Was really clean and polite, and fixed my wardrobe perfectly, even making sure to add extra support to the rail so that it wouldn't break again in the future. Appreciate he also took the time beforehand to explain to me what he was doing, and to check that everything was fixed and working properly afterwards. Highly recommend him, and will definitely work with him again in the future should I need any more handyman tasks done. Thank you!

What does a furniture repair service include?

Furniture repairs include a mixture of woodworking and upholstery skills, depending on the type of furniture and fix. Most of the time, your repair person will come to your home, but if they need more time or equipment to complete your repair, they may take your furniture home with them. Here are some of the most popular furniture repair services:

Bed repairs

Common problems for beds include broken slats, scratched wood, and broken frames. Or you might need a cot repair to sand and repaint your old cot so it’s fresh and ready for a new baby. Your bed repairer or sofa bed repairer will assess the damage before explaining your options. Then they’ll use things like glue, spare parts, sanding paper, stain, and paint to help your bed look its best.

Wardrobe, cupboard & drawer repair

Kitchen cupboard and kitchen drawer repair may involve replacing drawer tracks and hinges or painting and sanding. Wardrobe repairs usually depend on whether it’s a freestanding or built-in wardrobe. Common issues include broken doors, shelving, hinges, and door tracks. However, for more advanced repairs, you may need to find a cabinet maker.

Couch & upholstery repair

Upholstery repair is one of the most commonly requested types of furniture restorations. From sunken couch cushions to ripped fabric, most couches start to look a bit shabby before you’re really ready to move on. Your lounge repair might include stain removal, restitching, repairing broken feet or frames, or replacing webbing, zips, foam, or springs. Recliner repairs may also include fixing or replacing parts like motors, electrical bits, cables, levers, footrests, and more. Or if you need leather furniture repaired, your technician may be able to fix issues like fading, scratches, tears, and peeling.

Table, desk & chair repair

You can get all sorts of tables fixed, from dining tables to table lamp repair and coffee table repair. Most tables are made from wood, with common repairs including re-attaching broken legs, sanding, and staining. If you need an office chair repair, your handyman may look at replacing key parts, like armrests, wheels, and levers, while dining chair repairs normally involve reupholstering, fixing broken legs, sanding, and staining.

Build 2 small doors under stairs alcove + fix wardrobe

£400

Bromley, Greater London

21st Jan 2023

I need two jobs complete, ideally this week (previous Tasker let us down). JOB 1: Build, paint and fix one small door and one wooden cover to an under the stairs small alcove. No in-built storage needed, we simply need the space to look neater by adding a door. JOB 2: My in-built wardrobe needs a) the bar lowering as it’s too high, b) a shelf fitting above it c) one of the doors re-fitted on the outside as the hinge is broken. Ideally as soon as possible as I’ve emptied the wardrobe. Note: I already have all wood / paint / fixtures and fastenings for both jobs. - Due date: Before Thursday, 26 January 2023

I need wardrobe repair

Bow, Greater London

9th Aug 2021

The hanging rail inside the wardrobe fell off - need help putting it back as the current mounts don't seem to be able to hold it in place anymore (might need some stronger support to be put back in place - need some advice on how best to fix it.) Please see attached pictures. I've temporarily put back the rail mounts with the help of some glue but it doesn't seem to be strong enough to hold the metal rail at the moment. Also need help putting the wardrobe door back in place (as seen from the picture attached - the door is not broken, just needs to be put back)
