What does an electronic repair service include?

Airtasker’s electronic repair service covers pretty much all that you would expect at an electronics repair shop - plus added perks like home service and affordable rates. Electronic repair typically includes tools and equipment, troubleshooting, repairs and replacement of faulty parts, plus a Tasker who’ll purchase the replacement parts on your behalf.

While Taskers’ skills may vary from basic electronic repair to more advanced techniques, here’s what you can get done through this service:

GHD repair

Taskers can troubleshoot faulty hair straighteners, install replacement parts, and help you get more years out of your GHD hair iron. This is a great way to get affordable service once your GHD is past its warranty coverage.

LCD screen repair

This includes buffing out scratches, fixing TVs with faulty displays, or replacing cracked plasma, LCD, or glass components. LCD screen specialists can also handle fixing internal parts, like circuit boards. If necessary, they can recommend when it’s best just to purchase a new TV.

If you’d rather replace than repair, you can get a Tasker to help you mount your new television once it arrives.

Headphone repair

Taskers can replace worn-out padding, fix faulty plugs or jacks, and even repair the hinges of your favourite headphones. They can also help you isolate whether the problem is with your headphones or with the connected device, such as your laptop.

Hifi repair

Hifi repair includes fixing problems with the power board, disc tray, and other common issues that hifi owners may encounter.

Speaker repair

If your speakers are starting to act up and are disrupting your family’s movie night or dinner party, it’s time to have them checked by a Tasker near you. They can fix common audio problems, such as distorted sound or malfunctioning surround sound.

Amplifier repair

Taskers can assess and fix problems with your amp, including overheating and humming noises. The result? More hours of enjoying the music you love at full blast.

Circuit board repair

This is a more specific type of electronics repair since you or the Tasker have zeroed in on the circuit board as the cause of faulty device. Taskers can fix damaged pads or broken traces on the circuit board of your printer, laptop, amplifier, or microwave. Once the repair is done, they can help you assemble the device again to check if the repair is successful.

Drone repair

Drone repair specialists can fix problems like abnormal flight direction, faulty batteries, blocked GPS signals, and more.

Console repair

Whether you own a Wii, PS4, or Xbox, you can find a Tasker who can get it up and running again. Common problems they can fix include failed updates, freezing screens, or consoles that abruptly shut down.

Tablet repair

Have you got an iPad or an Android tablet that’s giving you a headache? Consider hiring a Tasker near you. They can assess your tablet’s issues, do necessary repairs, and have it up and running again.

I could provide photos of the wardrobe and the stairs in which way it needs to go if required

Soldering a wafer board in a HiFi Amplifier

£30

Stopsley Common, Bedfordshire

27th Nov 2020

Ive got a hifi amplifier and the contacts on the selector switch wafer have worn. I have sourced a replacement which has the wafer PCB, twelve pins soldered into it, and two new spring contacts. It comes with these instructions: To get the switch out, you've got to remove the input selector knob and rod, and the volume knob, remove the volume pot and take out the main board. Underneath there's a screw holding the blue plastic piece in which needs to be removed, and then you have to desolder the switch pins. You'll then need to unsolder the original switch, disassemble it and fit the new wafer, and solder the new switch assembly back into the board. I can deliver
