What do regrouting services include?
Regrouting services cover everything–from old grout removal to grout replacement, as well as cleaning and finishing touches. Regrouting specialists repair and seal damaged tiles in your bathroom, kitchen, as well as living rooms if needed. Old grout removal
Removing old grout is the trickiest part of the entire regrouting process. Without proper training, you could end up cracking the tiles or drilling down the wrong wall, which could result in an even more costly repair. With the help of an expert, you won't have to worry about possible damages.
Usually, they start by making a centre incision. Then, they hand-scrape the old grout using a grout remover or grout rake. If possible, they may also utilise an oscillating multi-tool or an electric grout remover to make things considerably quicker and easier. After effectively removing the old grout, they scrub away the stubborn chunks and finally clean the tile surface using a sponge or damp cloth.
Regrouting tiles
The type of grout to be used depends on your needs and preference. You may opt for the standard one, although you can also explore a different colour. From there, your Tasker applies and pushes your chosen grout into the lines, with a grout float, spreader, or a bucket trowel.
Mostly, the application follows a certain angle or pattern, but this process still rests on your Tasker's techniques and strategies. They reapply all excess grouts into other joints to minimise overall waste.
Final touches
Once the joints and gaps are filled, your regrouting specialist wipes the surface down with a damp sponge to remove grout dust. After the grout has dried and set in place, they finish off by polishing and buffing the face of the tiles with a clean, dry cloth. If you want to give your bathroom or kitchen a makeover without replacing any tiles, you can also get an expert interior painter to assist. Depending on your needs, they can either lighten or darken your tiles using an appropriate paint solution.
After the whole regrouting process, you will notice a lot of excess grout and dust on the floor. At times, they even linger on the window glass, kitchen countertops, or other surfaces. HI Just power washed the tiles and they need some attention. Had about a foot of water flowing over them during the floods last year. The whole lot needs to be regrouted. The floor of the shower has some grout missing and the bottom two rows of tiles on the wall could use some fresh grout. Also the silicon inside and outside the shower around the base is mouldy and dis-coloured so needs removing, cleaning and new silicon.
