Hi Paul. Saturday morning good for me. Can you pick up materials? Am thinking 200mm thick pine or similar (not laminated) to take weight of travel books. Your thoughts?

When we cut the panels we leave the finished edge to the front. The rear edge will be the cut and sanded edge and looks almost the same (it isnt milled as per the front edge but very much almost the same). I have a thin blade on my bench saw that does a nice fine cut.

The beech is very very light. That is the only real difference. You can view both and choose on the day if you need to, prior to transporting to your house.

Great. THanks Paul. Are you available this Saturday?
Hello Carole. Next Saturday would be ok for myself. I have nothing booked for then at this stage.

Hi Paul, apologies, have had a cold and not got my act together for the shelving or the 'larger' recess. Thank you for your suggestions regarding thickness vs book weight. Have looked at the Bunnings link you sent for the Interbuild panel. How does the edge, when sawed to size, look when facing the shelving? Does the cut edge require sealing or painting at all? I'd still like to go ahead with this job. Are you still available for this Saturday morning?

Also, I prefer the look of the mm Beech Laminated Panel. In terms of sawing and of maintenance, what's the difference between the laminated beech and the interbuild Oiled Golden Hardwood Acacia Panel? I dislike that yellow/orangy tone to wood and would not llok the best against my pale coffee coloured walls. Thanks.

Apologies. Spent hours measuring and planning the shelves' sizes and positions yesterday, then researching where to source materials. Need to reschedule this job to the following Saturday if suits you.
That suits Carole happy to help if you assign me 👍
Hi Carole do you still require my assistance ?

Very sorry Chris. Have had a cold and not got my act together. Best to cancel at this stage. Again, my apologies.
The pine panels are only 19mm thick and I really would recommend 25mm minimum. If you are dead set on clear pine I have a supplier that can do it. It isnt as strong though and shelves need to hold weight.
