We need a rip in an old couch fixed to stop it growing further. It is in embroidered fabric, but we are resigned to any fix being obvious. Just want to make sure it doesnt rip furthet as we intend to completelty reupholster once our kids are older. see pictures for fabric and size of rip.

Hi Harris,
Unfortunately when I bid for the job I didn't know a "matching" patch was required. So far I haven't found any patches to match closely, although I have some of different colour and not embroidered.
One possibility is to identify part of the existing sofa that is not visible, e.g. underneath or back, and use a piece from there.
Regards, George
Hi Harris,
Sorry I didn't get back to you before (I've been tasking). I'll see what I have in the way of patches.
Incidentally I'll be in the country this coming week building a partition in a garage, so won't be available until next weekend.
As you say the repair won't be invisible - any reason that you don't want to give it a go?
Cheers, George

Hi George,

We only have a basic sewing set. You should assume you will need all equipment and materials. Its a pretty wide rip so I would assume some sort of patch would be needed. Any strong dark green fabric would do.
Hi Harris,
Do you have repair kit or will I bring mine?
I'm a few minutes away. I'm generally available days up to 4pm.
Cheers, George
