We've had our Samsung Smart TV for about a year but there are certain channels we have never been able to get (7and 9) and it is unreliable for other channels like SBS.

Hi Geraldine, thanks for the message. This is my offer to fix your antenna issues next week.

I've tried to retune the tv today using AutoTune and have now lost channel 7 and SBS.
Happy to pay the amount if you think you can fix this problem....

Well I hope not on the roof, but possibly in the roof. It depends what I find. I usually carry boosters just in case. Basically I start at the tv, then work back to the wall, then behind the wall plate - and so on, checking as I go, until I find the problem/s.

It's usually worth standing back and looking up at the antenna though. I've seen them damaged by birds and even found one where the cable had been cut off, so it helps to eliminate possibilities as you go.

Your loss of further stations today may even be wind related so it might be worth another retune over the weekend to double check that.
It's unlikely to be the tv. I've encountered 2 TVs with failed tuners vs countless poor antenna connections. If it's the antenna it is likely fixable. If it's the tv a cheap set top box will fix your problems. But I'd put money on the antenna
Thanks for that David....will I need to get a booster or something like that to fix the problem? Will you need to get on the roof? I'm in a house ....sorry for all the questions just I thought it's best you know the situation. Thx
The age of the antenna doesn't matter. It's more likely one or more of your connections is degraded or a booster has failed. I'd like to assist but can't get there til next week.
Does your current antenna look structurally sound and cable still connected etc..?
Could well be your problem, the only things I can suggest is to re tune the tv through auto tune, followed by an antenna booster, if still fails then perhaps a need digital antenna
