Repaste laptop CPU + GPU and troubleshoot thermals

I have an Alienware 13 R3 laptop that has run into some throttling issues ever since I installed a second M.2 SSD and reinstalled Windows. I doubt it's a temp spike from the SSD itself, but I may have missed reinstalling correct thermal management software etc. As an example, FIFA 18 has gone from rock solid at 1440p Ultra to lagging down to single digit framerates at 1080p Medium after a few minutes of run time. On benchmarks the core clock on the GTX 1060 throttles down as low as 300MHz. Would like someone to help troubleshoot this for me, as well as repasting the CPU and GPU (and maybe a thermal pad on the SSD if we can isolate that as a cause). Maybe Kryonaut or Liquid Metal, but open to ideas.

On St Kilda Rd - date is completely flexible, no huge urgency.

Hi Chris

M2 drives could generate a lot of heat if they dont have proper ventilation and space to breathe.

I am happy to renew the thermal paste for CPU and GPU but in regards to M2, I would suggest using a heat shield if there is enough space.

Happy to inspect and provide further instructions as well.

The offer includes airtasker fee (15%), pickup and delivery, applying thermal paste to CPU and GPU, providing cosultation and assistance to reduce the heat and have proper ventilation.

I have 10+ experience in Hardware/software maintenance and support and you know you will be dealing with a responsible and experienced business rather than a random person.

How old is the laptop? Did you try to install fresh copy of Windows? This seems to be operating system or drive issues rather than thermal.
