Have a I Beam which is boxed out with a Render material which is easily cut/removed to expose the I Beam.

The Beam is about 7 meters long by 60cm. There could be easy access via a metal frame sitting next to it .

Remove material on completion.

Thanks Rory, for your worries. have had all the checks done previously. When the beam at the other end was done. The engineers have alway surprised commented on the massive size of the beam. Thanks anyway.
Action like this is exactly why people are worried about site like this. Who is financial and criminal responsible if anything goes wrong. That why we have engineers. They have indemnity insurance, knowledge and a destroyable reputation that gives us confidence that we are safe.
Good to know you have already had it checked by an engineer or know the person who applied the render and the reason for it. I mean people would horrified if people were just moonlighting as civil engineers without any regard for the deflection cause in exposed steel at 150C( which is lower than the temperature that sets of sprinkler systems). Just wish you would be able to give more assurance than its old and I have done one and it's fine.

Thanks Rory, as mentioned have already done one in the picture attached.

The render was put in place along time ago for aesthetic reason only.
I think you need to consult an engineer before just removing it. I don't think it is an aesthetic covering. Image what happens if the 40 ton concrete roof falls in with people under it.
