Hi Kevin,

Have you come across a new cloud based system called Xero? I use this is a number of my clients and your task would not be required given it has automatic bank feeds meaning no more excel files and no more imports. You also dont need to worry about which version you are using as Xero provides instant version updates.

(sorry for the hijack of the thread)... I am a registered BAS agent, so that I am able to do what Kevin is wanting done. I would have offered to assist except that I don't have the time available for the job.
I am presuming that Kevin would be relying on the work that anyone was willing to help him with - otherwise why would he be asking for help and be willing to pay for it too? :\
See 90-5 and 90-10 of act and then seek advice form perhaps ICB
I suggest you take a look at the Tax Practisioners Board website for clarification...that's the oddest interpretation I've seen of the code.
You are only required to be registered if you are 'relied' upon that the client is being provided confidence that their BAS provision obligations are being met. It is this interpretation and work required that needs to be looked at
