I have a fairly lightweight computer projector, and a universal ceiling mount. I've already attached the projector to the bottom part of the mount, but I'm nervous about attaching the top part to the ceiling.

I'm not convinced I've got the right plugs / screws for it, and I don't have a great history with home DIY! It just has 3 holes that are used to screw it to the ceiling.

The ceiling appears to be plasterboard. It's low (2.3 metres) and there are no strange features or anomalies. I'm just looking to get it set up in my new home so I can start watching TV :-P

Needs to be today, Monday or - at a push - Wednesday daytime, so it's ready for my housewarming party Wednesday night.

Questions(11)
Position is flexible along an axis - has to be pretty central to the screen, but distance from the screen isn't exact
This is what the ceiling looks like - wooden frame holding up what I assume are plaster boards. Whatever joists there are I can't detect.

The projector weighs about 2.5kg if that makes any difference...
So you are no too fussy about the positioning of the mount? Can we just move around to the nearest joist/rafter and use wood screws? (Joists should be 450mm center to center)
Daniel I'm open to advice... it's a rental property so minimum impact preferred.
