Hi there!

BACKGROUND:
We're a market research company based in Melbourne and currently researching about how people purchase and consume honey. The research is with people based around the world participating in an online forum to discuss different topics about honey products.

THE TASK:
We are currently seeking someone to assist in both translating and moderating the online discussion with Japanese participants. This will involve translating the discussion questions, reading participants responses, briefly translating and summarising their points in English, and responding to them in Japanese with further questions around the research topic.

WHEN/WHERE:
We are based in the Melbourne CDB and would need you to join us in our office. The online community will be running for 3 days (Tuesday 29th, Wednesday 30th, Thursday 31st). The moderating will take roughly 4 hours a day.

OTHER DETAILS:
The right Airtasker will be fluent in both Japanese and English and ideally have a background in marketing or social sciences. You should be friendly, inquisitive and be comfortable chatting and discussing with people in an online forum. We can provide a laptop for you to work on, but if you'd like to bring your own, you can. Also the dates may shift back or forth a day, so please let me know your availability throughout next week. Also able to give full phone and in person briefing upon assigning the task as well.

Please let us know a bit about yourself below and if you have any questions you may have, ask away!

Thanks!

Hi James,

I am Min and I’m a freelance Japanese-English translator. I got really excited when I learnt about your market research on the purchase and consumption of honey as I am a big fan of honey.

I recently graduated from Monash University with a Double Master Degree in Interpreting and Translation Studies and have done a marketing unit at university as an elective.

With regards to my professional experience, I have been a freelance translator for three years now and I am very comfortable liaising amicably with clients online. I value the relationships I make with people, not only in person but also online, and would love to be given the opportunity to aid you in your discussion on the different topics about honey products.

I would definitely enjoy having the opportunity to talk to you regarding this market research. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Min Teo
