Hey Airtaskers,

I need a helping hand to clean my scooter (model espresso 150).

It is a bit rusty on the handle bar, but besides that in a good condition. So one would probably need some strong hand to scrub it, polish the leather as well as clean and polish the body.

Unfortunately I don't have any cleaning material, so that would need to be brought by you. However I will reimburse you for the costs after.

Cheers,
Farina

Thanks boys for your concerns and advise, but I reckon steelwool will do here! :)
Thanks Ed, I do realise the concern with using rust converter. Hopefully it really is surface rust and steelwool and clear coat will suffice. However if it's too deep it can become a safetly concern, especially seeing as it's on the handle bars and needs to be properly treated. However Farina will be able to decide what she's after
:)
Farina, mmm, doesnt rust converter makes the metal turn 'black'?
that is from my experience when retoring 1900's steel door locks.
be careful with that...

if rust is mostly surface (not too deep),
you can use fine steelwool (or fine sandpaper if heavy rust), to remove rust back to shiny appearance, then use a can of spray clear coat as a protection layer. might not be proper but works nicely.

good luck
Hey there, I'm pretty good at detailing motorbikes, and can put rust converter on the rusty sections to stop them from further eroding away.
:)
