In the backyard I have a step that you get to when you walk out of the kitchen. The step is about 90cm high and is made of brick. You then can step down to the backyard level.

There are stairs on both sides of the step - one going along the house (longer stairs), the other away from the house (shorter stairs).

I want to install a fence about 80cm - 1m high to make sure my children don't fall off it along the whole length of the step.

I am thinking either galvanised steel or glass as I have glass fence next to the pool (provided picture does not have that pool fence).

You will need to supply the fence or help choosing.

Please quote me or ask questions if you require more details.

Hi Anton,

Glass fences can often be expensive. My suggestion would be to go with some sort of powder-coated steel fence from a pool fencing company. They are usually able to make them exactly to size.

If you would like, I can take measurements and get quotes for a fence as you’ve described, and handle the fabrication and installation. By the looks of it, it will be easy to install, by simply dyna-bolting it directly onto the lower brick section.

Let me know your thoughts. Ed
