We are looking for a professional, reliable, experienced chef/cook/food professional to prepare, cook & layout food for our sons 1st birthday party. We envisage around 4 hours work from 11.30am to 3.30pm. The role will involve heating some pre-prepared food, cooking a few items, putting together some cheeseboards, possibly preparing a couple of basic salads, laying everything out, and then regularly checking the tables and topping up items where required ie salads, rolls & cheeseboards, clearing platters when items are finished, and a quick clean up at the end – maybe consolidating left over food to one table, popping platters in the dishwasher, wiping down the kitchen benches etc. We’ll be using plastic plates, cups and cutlery so everything else can go straight in the bin. There may be a few other light tasks involved with the general set up of the party.

This is not a waiter job, we envisage our guests will mostly help themselves, although if you decided to take the occasional platter around where time allows, we’re not going to hold it against you.

This IS a long weekend. Please keep this in mind when looking at the job. And we will only look at applicants who have excellent reviews in food related tasks.

Food provided: you’ll be able to help eat the tasty treats you’re lovingly preparing when you’re ready for some lunch and a short break.

“We hired Kerrie for my sons 1st birthday party so that we didn’t have to spend the day in the kitchen & could actually get out and enjoy the party & spend time with our friends who had come so far to see us.

And we did... Kerrie was the consummate professional. She got on with the task of whipping up an amazing lunch, keeping tables & cheeseboard fully stocked, & then cleaning up after with no additional direction or instruction required.

She was beautifully presented, the guests that interacted with her thought she was amazing & I would not hesitate to hire her again, for this task, or any others. Thank you Kerrie!!!!”

Hi there I can help you with this, I've been a chef for 25 years and doing functions in people's houses was my speciality. I don't have any reviews for this particular task as yet but did work at the good food show in June and had a great review. I can provide references from my cv if needed. Cheers kerrie

Hi Corey yes I am I'm not sure how I'm going to show you references though without sharing personal info?

Thank you.

Hi Tina,
Sorry for the delayed response. I didnt receive a notification about your message, so just looking into that now. I havent finalised the food completely yet, however we're thinking about just ordering some cooked chickens, so breaking those up (nothing too exciting sorry), perhaps some hot dogs as there will be a few kids, so will be hiring a bain marie, so just setting that up to cook those in, and then I'd like to do some big salmon fillets, so just popping those in the oven and pulling them out once cooked. Then I'm currently looking at whether I pre-purchase some salads (in which case it will be just laying them out) or whether I just get someone to make up a couple of different basic salads, and then order some coleslaw. Plus the cheeseboards mentioned and then I had thought I might make some arancini and meatballs for nibbles (and for the bubs), so just popping them in the oven to heat up/cook. Hope that covers off most of it. Do you think this is something you might be interested in? Theres not a heap of creativity in it, it really is just basic catering.
