Details
Internet connection terminates in an upstairs bedroom, 2 storey T/house.

I'd like to install an unpowered backbone:
- install an in-wall eth socket (or replace existing socket- coax or power)
- run eth cabling from that bedroom, up into roof, across one room, down existing in-wall Foxtel/Antenna cable trough to downstairs living area
- insulate/protect roof cable run
- install in-wall eth socket (power and dual coax sockets in place).

Please assume all materials needed.
(Have a 20m Ethernet cable which can be cut to size if required)
12-15m total cable length needed.
Eth faceplates/wall jacks needed.
Ladder needed for roof access.

I imagine it won't take long; quote what you think, please ask any questions needed.

Questions(2)
Hi Tristan,

Probably destroying peoples chances of getting a job here but have a look at powerline adapters.

They basically make the internet connection go through the electrical wiring in the house. I used them in the UK and got speeds of 100 mbps down them.

Set up is super easy, plug one into the wall next to the router and connect via ethernet cable to router. Then plug one in where you want the connection and voila.

I got mine from ebuyer in the UK for about 80 aud.
Thanks Jon, I've experimented with em before, and something about the wiring or other electrics of this place makes them suboptimal! So thought I'd go old school actual wiring. But appreciate the thought!
This is a bigger job than you describe
Thanks Kris, entirely possible.
