Hi there,
I am looking for a qualified electrician to upgrade my old fuse box / circuit breaker to the newer compliant models.

The current fuse box is sitting above the fridge and needs to be replaced and brought forward.

There is a John Turk shop only meters away from my apartment, so we can drop in there to buy the new parts, which I will pay for.

The photos attached show 2 pics of my current circuit breaker box.

Please let me know if you can help.

Hi aneesha,
I can do this no problem. I'm a licensed electrician since 2010. I'm quick reliable and tidy. Price is for labour and airtasker fee. You can come with me to the electrical wholesalers to buy the parts. I'm assuming you live on Sussex street near j r terks.

Hi aneesha, sorry only just see your question. The kitchen installers will normally provide a panel to mount the switchboard on. Your looking at around the $250 mark for materials providing that I can use 4.5Ka safety switches(I'll need to do a quick test) and providing the kitchen fitters provide the panel to mount the switchboard on. This $250 will be paid on top of my airtasker
Hi Aneesha, just go to your local
JRTurk and ask them, they can help you.
Is there enough slack on the cables to bring the board forward that far without joining them? Can you see behind the timber it's mounted on to check?
What's the wall behind the cupboard made of? Brick or gyprock?
Who is going to be removing the old cupboard and putting the new one in?
When are they going to do that? do they need to be there at the same time as the electrician to swap things over?
What's the height of the cupboard?(switchboards can only go between certain heights and can't be mounted on timber - need a sheet of different material between)
Do you know where the service fuse is as this will have to be removed to isolate power safely when doing the job

Yes I can, do you live in a unit?? I would need access to the main switchboard to isolate the power.....
I could make myself available this afternoon, Thursday or Friday after 5pm or Saturday, whatever suits you...
Makes sense I guess. But I've mounted many in units onto the melamine/msg timber. Might need to look that one up. Cheers.
Your task need minimum
2x service.
Before kitchen guys and
After kitchen guys.
The after kitchen guys I understand, but why do we need before kitchen guy? Can't we just take out the old board and circuit breaker box, extend the cable, put new box on board and then just leave it sitting there until the kitchen guys can screw it back into the new cupboard?
I mean; need protection for all cable behind sub board and panel
Need to install my board.
Or only a devider panel about 200 mm in from edge of new cabinet
