we are wanting approximately 500 DVD's and CS 's ripped from originals and stored on a provided portable hard drive or two

the bonus is you get copies of all of them too

there are tv series as well as movies newish and old

they are all stored currently in 80 liter plastic tubs and can be taken tub at a time.
they can be ripped here or at your place of convenience

we will pay 50 cents per CD or DVD rip above the first 500 and wouldn't be surprised if there was a thousand there.

they must be converted to watchable and working format and from the original disc.

we would like to use some one who is confident that they can do it or has done it before.

Depends on the size of the car.
There are 2 57 litre tubs. 2 80-90 liter tubs (that would fit in a station wagon boot or back seat)
And a 45 liter flatter tub of CDs that would fit in a front seat
No worries.
If he's anything like the 17yo guys I know, I'll chat to you next week ;-)
Good luck
Hamish.

Sounds great...
I have just had my 17 yo say **** do it...
But let's see if he pulls through over the next week or so. Otherwise I'll task it here.
We basically just want a good quality, don't need the menus and subtitle or previews or extras stuff as we'd have the originals if need be.

Mk something format is what I think was a higher quality from what I here...
It's not for reburning, just for playing straight
A DVD is 8Gb in its native format, and can be anywhere from 1Gb-8Gb in ripped format. (Below 2gb is terrible and unwatchable IMHO)
If you like, I could acquire the portable hdd for you as necessary and charge you expenses.
Regards
Hamish.
My wife stays home looking after the kids, and keeping my media centre up to date with the latest stuff I want to watch.
She's very experienced and good at ripping DVDs, and more than happy to take on this task.
As I'm a little distant from Bentleigh, I'd like to collect the whole lot at once.
You will need to specify the quality you want the discs ripped at, so the appropriate amount of space required can be calculated.
