Why does it have to be 1.5m deep? 500mm is more than sufficient for hedges.

Hi Emma, could you post some photos? Also, could you check with your council? From memory, any dig exceeding 600mm next to the boundary requires council consent or DA.

Hi David, photo is attached above. No council approval needed. My neighbour is fine with hedging (which I will plant with a small garden in front of this) along the fence line.
