Hi Folks,

This is a ten-minute job for handy person with the right tools who happens to be in the area.

I need someone to drop by my place to repair an outside coaxial cable which has been partially worn through or chewed by a cat or something.

You have to know about how to deal with coaxial cables which are not just your standard piece of wire.

It's just a matter of cutting-out the broken bit and joining the the two new ends. The cable runs from the antenna down the side of the house, then under the house. The broken bit is quite near the ground (cat height!) so it's very easy to access. There is quite a bit of play in the cable, which helps make it easy to do.

You'll need to supply the joining materials (probably just a couple of very cheap connectors from Bunnings. If you're a sparky or TV person, you'll probably have a supply of these). You'll also need the tools that are suitable for use with coaxial cable:

- cutters
- a stripping tool
- probably a compression tool.

The price includes materials. I won't be paying more than $40 I'm afraid (sorry!) because I can actaully do this myself (if I invest in the tools). Sorry! Hence it would suit someone with tools who happens to be going through Thornbury.

The test for success of the repair is that my TV works again!

You can do this at your leisure, I don't have to be home.

Thanks folks!

Cheers,

Mark
