Create list of all Hair dressers/Salons in area

I need someone to research and provide a list in excel of all the hair dressers/hair salons in the Sutherland shire area.

This would go from Kurnell in the East to Lucas Heights west and as far as Heathcote south.

The list should provide Salon name, address, phone number, email and website (if available). It also needs to provide their opening hours and what brand of colour products they are using. These should also have a suburb column which is the first column, to allow sorting. I will provide an Excel template for this.

I imagine a large bulk of this research could be performed online, but the hours and colour products will in all likelihood need to be performed by calling the salon.

For this it would be a simple case of ringing the salon and saying "Hi I'm new to the area and looking for a hairdresser. What days are you open? Also what brand of colour do you use?"

Please note this list should not include the Just Cuts chain.

If this task is done successfully I will hopefully repeat the task for further suburb areas in Sydney metro and wider NSW.

Google is in a position to take over all such business directories in the future once it becomes recognised as a standard and regularly reviewed/edited. E-mail listings, however, are declining in websites and business directories thanks to spam-control measures, and in many cases require a phone call to extract this information.
Great. I'll bid on the task once I know it can be completed (Yellow Pages has started cracking down on anonymous proxy services so it's not as easy as it was a month ago...). As you've observed, Yellow Pages is starting to show its age. There are a lot of out-of-date entries and duplicates and a lack of website listings. I wrote a program to scrape Google Maps as it has more website listings but unfortunately it borrows listings from the Yellow Pages and is restricted to 100 search results.

Hi Michael, I just created a separate task for this now. I will still let this original task run as it is and use it as a comparison to your list to get a gauge as to the gap between actual businesses and what is listed in the Yellow pages now (in the era of it's declining influence).

PS - Yep that's one of the reasons why I'm not ringing and checking the colour part myself

Hi Michael, that sounds really interesting. That will be handy in all sorts of ways. I'll take you up on that as a separate task, sounds like I could then use that list as a basis and get people to qualify and get hours and colour from that list.
