Buying Snowboarding Gear, Need shop recommendation

Posted by Jonathan L.

Due date
Saturday, 30th Jun 2012
I'm looking to go to the slopes again this year but want to buy my own equipment this time, I've been hiring gear for years but figure its time to up the stakes.

What I need is a few recommendations on where the best place to buy from is? (I'd prob prefer buying a 2nd hand snowboard as it'll get thrashed anyway and will be cheaper)

I need to buy:

- snowboard
- boots
- jacket and pants

I've got the goggles, gloves and smaller stuff already

Will be driving so if its a place on the way to Jindy thats ok but online is fine too

Any website links would also be helpful!

Hi Jonathan, thanks for your reply. Yes, please assign the task to me then I will send you a recommended package from the site that my bf ordered from. That should not be a problem at all. Thanks : )
Hey Grace, sorry for the late response have been snowed under!

Sounds good can we do this though, since I've had some great suggestions already (thanks to all) then if I assign you to this task could you actually put together a recommended package for me from the site you ordered from? Should include all equipment I listed. If your ok with that I'll assign you, Cheers
How's that sound?
Another way (less recommended) is to go to a local shop, pay $50 for a fitting service (this is how local shops avoid shoppers trying on for free and then shop online) and buy online."

can send you the website where he bought his snow gear after I got assigned to this task.

He is selling his boot at the moment, so feel free to come and have a look after you finish work. We live in the city.
For snowboard boots, you probably need to have a good fit and try before buy, so an online shop may not be a good way to go. Instead Gumtree has a few ads for selling second hand boots. This pair is a limited edition Rome (reliable brand) worn once by the current owner:
