I have a coaching business with aspects of counselling. It's a unique business where I work with the issues of the heart. 98% of the people in my industry or similar work through logic or ego.

I'm able to see people and not how their stories defines them. I work with families, couples and singles. My clients have made massive client stopped heavy drug use after her second session with me. The main point is that my clients are NOT dependent on me. They learn to develop the skills for themselves and eventually don't need my help at all except as maintenance and occasional support.

Clients feel empowered, happier and more in control of their lives! They start to understand WHY they do the things they do, working from a point of consciousness instead of a worn out pattern that no longer serves.

I have been doing this for over 20 years. The sessions are high impact so they don't stretch out for years, only months and usually less than a year is needed. Sometimes even less.

My clients become family...I just have a bit more authority in regards to the structure of the session. Clients are never victims and I work under a tree or at a cafe and not in an office. I am relatable, share my own struggles (as per the lessons I've learned) and I sometimes even swear - I'm the big sister that one has always wanted or the 'cool mum' type.

I wasn't born in Australia but I have so many friends here and this is my home. Primarily, St. Kilda because it's so darn interesting. I've been here for 5 years. But since I don't have those contacts, etc like I do in the states it's harder for me to get the business up and going. I'm happy to give away sessions for free like I do on Airtasker but at some point I'm going to have to take it to the next level. I currently have about a handful of clients but my goal is to have 30-40 a month. Since I am very contribution oriented and altruistic, I don't have a ton of cash laying about so I need:

- inexpensive, effective ways to advertise
- get quick results, feedback
- be part of some kind of referral program
- get creative ideas that I wouldn't normally think of as far as reaching people goes
- still contribute but also get serious and make this a real business
- effective ways to brand myself
- thoughts/ideas from what you've read?

If there is anything I haven't thought of please add your ideas in the comments section. There are so many people that actually need the service Im providing. Money is a part of it but helping people be happy is the MOST important part. I hate to see people feel alone or suffer unnecessary.
