thanks for that, it was actually an issue with adobe flash player needing updated, i did that and all seems to be ok
hopefully in the future we will get a chance to try out your services, appreciate the input folks

Hi David, there is no viruses on mac OS X platform yet;) iMac 27" white screen issue, could be related to 2 possible hardware issues, graphic card or hard drive, still could be a software problem only, so if you restored machine from TM backup issue will be still there, TM basically do the mirror copy of your HDD so if that was a software problem it will be also on the back up drive. it looks a bit like a virus, customer had the system and then it totally crashed, just white screen trying to load up, i re installled mac OSX from time machine back up, but now still playing up a bit
