I have an exhaust header pipe I need to paint as it's just bare metal and not stainless or chrome. I need it to be Way more smooth. I've sanded it with corse paper and used a wire brush on a cordless drill but it's a rough home job with welds so I made barely any impact.

Might need something like an angle grinder or similar to really smooth it out and get the excess corrosive crap off there that I couldn't.

If you can help out let me know. I can drop it off, or even come to you and hang around while you're doing it.

You can see the before and after pics but it still needs to be smoother to paint

good luck .
Ok sweet thanks for the tip, I'll call some local exhaust places
I might be able to I'll have to see if my next door neighbour still has his welder outer wise just take it to an exhaust shop they should only charge you $20-30 to do it
Yep i went really soft and it was all good. Finally found the holes (which explains why random exhaust fumes would build up at traffic lights) now I need someone who can run new mig welds around the old ones?
Okay give it a go just keep in mind not to push to hard as it will dig in very quick also how even of a finish are you hoping to get ?
