What is the difference between Venetian blinds and roller blinds?
The difference between Venetian blinds and roller blinds is their ability to block light. Venetian blinds have a series of slats that you can easily adjust to get the right amount of light. Take note, however, that the rays may still penetrate through the small cracks. Roller blinds, on the other side, are made of fabric and can give you full privacy and blockage if rolled down.
How will I know if I need to repair or replace my Venetian blinds?
Most Venetian blinds are expected to last long so you don't necessarily have to immediately replace them whenever a problem arises. Minor issues such as bent or warped slats, tangling, and broken cords are easily repairable as long as they are handed over to a professional. Unless the repair is already charging you more, then a replacement may be the better option.

What do Venetian blinds fitting and repair services include?
Depending on your needs, our blinds experts can either install your newly-purchased Venetian blinds or repair any damages to your window treatments. Typically, Venetian blinds fitting involves measuring your window frames, drilling holes for the brackets, and installing the blinds in place. Meanwhile, the actual repair process will depend on the issues you have with your Venetian blinds. Here's what you can expect:
Venetian blinds fitting
Venetian blinds installation may look like a no-frills DIY job from the get-go. However, it's best to get an expert to do it for you to avoid any irregularities or incorrect measurements. Our Venetian blind fitting specialists can handle Venetian blinds made from different materials such as aluminium, wood, or plastic. The exact process will depend on the manufacturer's recommended installation, but the basics include:
- Accurately measuring the height and width of your window case
- Checking the size of your Venetian blinds to see if they match the frame
- Marking the position of headrails and support brackets
- Drilling holes and securing brackets, which can be mounted onto the ceiling, above window case, or inside the frame
- Clipping the headrails and your Venetian blinds into the brackets, where they should snap into place
- Fitting safety cleats to keep your kids and pets safe from the cords and chains
Suppose you need to fit electrical Venetian blinds or place decorative lighting around it. In that case, you might also want to consider hiring an electrician for efficient wiring installations and other electrical-related tasks.
Vertical blinds installation
Vertical blinds are made almost identical to Venetian blinds, but instead of going up and down, they move from left to right. They can also jazz up your monochromatic room even without extravagant spending. The only downside is that most vertical blinds are fragile and easy to break if handled carelessly. Our professional Vertical blind installers can lessen all the risks associated with fitting your blinds. The process is also similar to installing Venetian blinds, except it has vertical slats or vanes that are hooked into a different track that is suitable only for Vertical blinds.
Vertical Venetian blinds repair
If you are on a budget, you might be tempted to repair your vertical Venetian blinds yourself to save cost. While there are minor repairs you can easily do on your own, you might still need an expert eye to find the root of the problem and avoid further damages. Our Taskers can assess the damage and perform the necessary repairs. Our Vertical Venetian blind repair services range from simple adjustments and restringing to slat replacements. We can also help fix or replace your blind's tilt mechanism if needed, or trim the slats if they appear too loose for your window frame.
