Remove 4 inches of soil and gravel from an area at the side of the house measuring 5.6 metres x 1.6 metres. (I calculate that to be 0.9 cubic metres; hope that's right). Another 2 inches of yellow sand needs to be dug out alongside, from an area of 6.5 metres x 1.6 metres. Another 0.26 cubic metres. So that's 1.16 cubic metres altogether. Area needs to be left level, so paving can be installed there (doesn't have to be perfect, but I don't want it up hill and down dale).
