What do water tank installation and repair services include?

Water tank installation and repair covers what's necessary to install new water tanks to your home or repair old ones and restore them in good running condition. Regardless of size, design, and specifications, you can hire an expert to handle your water tank-related needs so you can have peace of mind knowing they're in expert hands. Not only will you be able to reduce your water bills and environmental impact, but you'll also be safeguarding you and your family's health. Here's what we can do for you:

Water tank installation

If you just moved into a new home to start anew, our Taskers can help you install backup water tanks so you can be ready for any emergencies. Before installation, you must first check with your local council and water authority in case your tank needs approval.

Once confirmed, your Tasker starts by carefully choosing where to place your water tank. Its position must be unobtrusive, readily accessible, and close to a downpipe. They'll then take the inlet screen of your tank and connect it with your existing downpipe, fit a cleaning or filtering device, then check if all remaining parts fit correctly before installation.

Your tank's outlet holes are then drilled in, the tap or hose fitting screwed in place, and lastly, Teflon tape is wrapped around the fitting to reduce leakage. For proper water storage tank maintenance, your Tasker will also remind you to clean your filters and strainers regularly.

Water tank repair

One of the most common water tank issues is leakage. To repair your water tank, your Tasker first drains the equipment below the level of the tear and clean the surface of any grime or dirt. Then, they drill a tiny hole on both ends of the tear and heat the area surrounding the hole with a heat gun or propane torch. The filler material is then placed over the tear and continuously heated until it covers the damage completely.

Once the tank is cooled down, your Tasker tests it out by refilling the equipment with water and re-checking for any leaks. In case you own a solar water heater tank, your Tasker can also handle the repair for you. Most solar water tank problems arise from pipe degradation due to harsh UV rays and rough weather conditions. Improper installation or no maintenance of valves, pumps, and sensors can also contribute to problems over time. If your solar water heater tank is malfunctioning, the quickest and most cost-effective solution is replacing it with new parts.

Water tank removal

Your Tasker can also handle your water tank removal in case you have a dormant water tank that's worn down and no longer in use. Since water tanks are heavy and pose health and safety risks, professional help and specialised equipment are needed for the job. From safely removing the tank off of your property to cleaning up the area afterwards, you can leave the job to your Tasker and let them do the heavy lifting for you.

Slice the concrete water tank and add door

Hi there, I have a big concrete water tank that has been disused for a while, I’d like to have it sliced and have a door added so I can repurpose it for storage. AIM: tank becomes access with lockable door I’d like someone who can: - Slice the concrete (there’s a small hole already cut out, the door hole will go here) - Put up a steel frame - Hang the door - Install a lock onto door and frame I will supply, the door, the frame, the dead lock. The door dimensions are is 2040 x 820 mm, it’s a front timber door. As soon as the hole is sliced, the water inside the tank (there’s a low level stuck at the bottom) can be drained out, and I will have it cleansed with a gurney. Looking for someone ASAP please as I’d like some time for the water from the gurney to dry for the weekend. The gurney will be in as soon as you’re finished. Whilst you’re here you’ll have some very pleasant company of birds and a choir of trees of all manner of beauty and height. Cheers, Aiya
