Spread soil & mulch across front garden

$210

Bruce, Australian Capital Territory, Australia

30th Nov 2016

A pile of soil (3 cubic metres) is about to be delivered. I need someone to do the following. 1. Shovel the soil into a wheelbarrow and tip / spread the soil over the whole garden. 2. Mix the good new soil roughly with the old poor-quality soil already on the ground (a mattock does the trick very quickly & easily). 3. Rake the whole area smooth and level. 4. Spread the mulch (just 1m3) over the top. We think the job should take a strong, hard-working bloke around 5-6 hours: 2-3 hours for the shovelling and maybe 1 hour each for the remaining tasks. We've therefore put forward a budget of 6 hrs x $35 = $210. However, feel free to ask questions to do your own time estimate, as we want a fixed price for the whole job, with payment at the end (after the job is complete). We'd like it done ASAP. You could start as early as today. PS - We've also got lots more gardening work available once this is done.

Gardening: dig holes / shovel soil & mulch / etc

$130

Bruce, Australian Capital Territory, Australia

16th Oct 2016

We're looking for 1-2 strong blokes who can dig a bunch of holes in our front yard (for planting young native plants) and who can then shovel a pile of soil and mulch across the area. About 30 new holes need to be dug, and about 20 more need to be dug a bit deeper. Afterwards, we'd like help with other gardening jobs - e.g. laying out the irrigation system, setting up the trellis, etc. We have spme of the tools required: one pick, two old wheelbarrows and a couple of old spades. If you have your own tools, even better! ' Also, you have other tools - e.g. an augur or a rotary hoe, that would be great as it would make the work a lot quicker!! Otherwise, we'll just dig the holes with a pick & spade, and move the stuff with a wheelbarrow. There's also plenty of other work in our yard for someone strong and capable. E.g. we also need some really heavy railway sleepers moved, the old clothes line removed, etc - but we'd ask for a separate quote for that. We need the digging and shovelling work done ASAP - in the next day or two. Will post some photos soon. If you can do PART of this work only, we'd still like to hear from you. If you can do MORE than specified (e.g. if you have extra tools such as an augur or an angle grinder), then even better! The quote is for the whole of the gardening work, including digging holes, moving mulch and helping with the watering system and trellis.

Move soil and mulch (and related work in garden)

$100

Bruce, Australian Capital Territory, Australia

17th Feb 2017

We have about sixty young plants to plant this weekend, and we'd love some help with all the work, but especially with the soil prep (e.g. moving wheelbarrows full of dirt and mulch into the garden beds, then mixing it in, ready for planting). You would need to be a strong, hard-working person who doesn't mind doing hard physical labour in the garden: shovelling dirt, digging holes, spreading mulch, etc. Ideally you would also be able to use a circular saw and hammer drill, as there may also be a few related tasks (e.g. knocking out a few bricks, trimming a few branches, etc). We would prefer you to have your own mattock and wheelbarrow (so we can use ours at the same time), but we would supply all other tools. We think it's fun to work hard in the garden and see the results at the end of the day - and hopefully you'll enjoy it too! Our initial offer is for four hours of work, but there will be plenty more work available after that if things go well.
