Hello Handymen, Plumbers and Boilermakers, Metal deck flat roof at a shop in Seaford requires sealing. The tenant below is experiencing water drops on the hot plate grill cook top, With no visible marks of water damage to the plaster ceiling above, it is believed (not 100% sure) that the water is gaining access to the chimney on the roof top and running into the shop below. A previous plumber has fully sealed the base of the chimney stacks, with metal foil strips and UV protected black bitumen with plastic mesh reinforcement. I need someone to get into the shop’s ceiling, through the plaster ceiling port hole and scale across along to the underside of the metal decking to where the chimney stacks are and seal the underside of the metal deck roof sheets,(ceiling height 5 metres) and 4 metre horizontally trek from the porthole to the chimney) Tasker must have insurance cover for work done. A Monday job is recommended, as the Sunday expected rain will supply evidence as to the leaking origin. Access from 10:45am Your thoughts and ideas appreciated. Adrian.

We have a storm water drain in backyard and I would like to explore the option of removing the grate on top and and replacing with Merbau decking. Not sure if it can be done or not or if it would be too flimsy or not as it’s about 1.2 deep and if you fell down it would hurt a bit! Hoping to remove the ugly grate and if it could be done in 140mm Merbau it would match the rest of the deck. Ideally it would be easily removeable if I ever needed to access the pit but I’ve never had the need to currently. Pit is 860mm wide x 800 long and 20mm deep. I will put minimum cost against job to see if it generates any interest but happy to be guided as to a more realistic cost. Note the grate goes about 100mm under the existing step.

Build a low approx 3m x 3.3m composite deck in brown. As it is over a drain, boards will need to be screwed down to allow access. Eko Deck classic from Bunnings is a good option. If you have a different supplier that can cut boards to exact length that can be an option or if you could do something like this so there is little wastage of boards in photo 3 (if using Bunnings Eko deck as come in 5.4m). We have two rotten boards in our deck which need replacing. - Due date: Flexible

Need to repair/replace edge decking of pool + replace some boards on the pool deck. Pool is 10m x 3.5m. Boards are black butt. Frame underneath is OK, so just need to replace the boards.
