    TPG MDF Jumpering Internet

    $50

    Bronte NSW, Australia

    3rd Aug 2018

Telsra guy came here this morning and setup the connection up to the building connection point. Now, they say I need to find a LICENSED TECHNICIAN to connect MDS MDF's location. TPG wants more $60 for that, but I already paid $99 for setup(nothing), and refuse to pay even more. I work 6 minutes away, so can be there in that time. The email from TPG: "Dear Teresa Guerreiro, We recently advised you that TPG has completed the installation of your ADSL2+ with Home Phone bundle service. However, we’ve detected that additional cabling work is required at your premises to make the service work in your unit. What does this mean? We’ve tested that your service is installed and working at the telephone switchboard of your building (called the Main Distribution Frame or “MDF”) which is TPG’s network boundary point where we’re responsible for your service. The cabling work required is called “jumpering” and uses existing cabling to connect your service from the MDF to the telephone socket in your unit, so you can use the service. The possibility of additional cabling work was explained during your sign-up. For more information, please visit [Content Moderated] You may choose one of these two options: Have TPG arrange a qualified technician to do the cabling work for you for a cost of $59.99, charged to your TPG account. Hire your own licensed technician to do the cabling (ask them to connect MDF details VX 1 to your unit) To request for option 1 or if you have any questions, please reply to this email."
