The computer is both software and hardware sound but it is running very slow and some versions of programs new to be updated. Potentially for 2-3 other devices as additional tasks if interested. Must be willing to come to Melbourne CBD.

    Fix MacBook Pro startup

My 2012 MacBook Pro is having the same problems as described in this link: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7658833: On startup, instead of the apple logo and progress bar, I'm getting either a "prohibitory" sign or a folder icon with a question mark. Pressing Command+V reveals "Error loading kernel cache (0x6)". The disk is not displayed in "Disk Utility" in the Recovery Mode, so it cannot be verified/repaired and Mac OS X cannot be reinstalled. However, if I turn the computer off and wait for some time (eg, 30 min) the computer starts and seems to work (but still getting "Error code -36" when copying files). About a year ago, I replaced the original SATA disk for a SSD. I thought maybe the SSD was damaged, but after reconnecting the original disk I'm getting the exact same errors. In the link above, someone suggests changing the Flex cable that connects the disk to the board. Could you diagnose if this is what I need and do it?
