Complete Holden FX Ute 1952 has been in storage container last 20 years (owned for 30 years). Was fully running and road registered driven some weekends but had some damage rear corner occur, surface rust just starting to develop 20 years back and was then pulled down to do restoration by myself. Marriage, kids, a few challenges of life combined with work has meant i didn’t get around to setup to do the job. I am still to busy so am looking for someone to do the job. Everything is there and it is in etch primer and sitting on the running chassis with engine and drive train as was last running. Doors, through bonnet guards etc are all removed. Needs someone with appreciation, time and all round car restore skills to work through rolling chassis clean up including drum brakes reworked, clutch change, engine cleaned up, radiator etc and repainted. Panel work, some panel beating to do, remove old etch primer, fill, prep surface, repaint car. Perhaps you are retired and/or love working on an old classic and this project is similar to past works you have done. If you are near by on the Central Coast and have some garage or shed space I am open to the car being worked on at your own pace with progress plan and payments being made on stages review. I have some of the consumables and materials required, manuals tools compressor, air tools, sprayer and can also fund all materials/outsourced bits as required so you are not out of pocket as you work on it. I am not loaded so this will be coming from my hard earned otherwise it would have gone to mechanics for rebuild and then panel beater, paint shop or restorer. Ideally looking for a lover of such cars, has time, skills, pride in workmanship and is prepared to work on it for a reasonable fee. Cash payments possible and open to your thoughts on fixed fee (with progress payments) material cost met by me so primarily your labour. Finish is to be to achieve blue slip and a good looking car to drive on weekends. I am not interested in concourse or totally original for shows but a car that will turn a head with some mechanical mods that make it more driver friendly. Yes it has matching numbers, grey motor but I am looking at having the chrome stand out with a dark blue or black with some deep dish old style chrome mags. Start January - finished by June 2020 (6 months)
