Here are some helpful tips on how to clean your fireplace.<\/p>\n<h2>Be prepared to get messy<\/h2>\n<p>Soot, smoke, ash, and crumbling chunks of charcoaled timber\u2026 be prepared for things to get more than a little messy.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Smock up<\/strong> \u2013 an artist\u2019s smock, an old apron, or even a plastic poncho will do.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gloves<\/strong> \u2013 something heavy-duty and made of fabric.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Drop sheet<\/strong> \u2013 you\u2019ll definitely need a plastic drop sheet or an old bed sheet that you\u2019re happy to dispose of for the floor.
