If you\u2019re a bride who\u2019d like to wear something very special, you could wear your mother or grandmother\u2019s wedding dress if it\u2019s still around. Most of our older generations were married 20+ years ago now, so keepsake wedding dresses are sure to be unique. Vintage, lacey, flowing frocks can be worn as they were or modified by a skilled tailor to create a truly bespoke look.<\/p>\n

Alternatives to the traditional wedding cake<\/h2>\n

Is cake not really your thing? Take some creative license with your \u2018cake\u2019 and instead of the traditional fruit cake or mud choices, why not have a \u2018cheese cake\u2019? Literally\u2026 a cake made of cheese wheels, stacked upon each other. What about a donut wall? They\u2019re fun and decorative! Or no cake at all\u2026 maybe just some nice dessert, or a night cap? Get a friend to marry you<\/h2>\n

Some couples are lucky enough to know a close family friend, a friend of a friend, or religious figure who is legally able to marry them. But some are not. Being married by a complete stranger can feel a little uncomfortable for some people. If there is a special person in your life who you’d love to be involved in your big day in a very special way, you could look into getting them certified to become a marriage celebrant. It is a little bit expensive though, so it’s not for everyone… but it is a nice thought.<\/p>\n
