The current COVID-19 health crisis has presented an immense challenge for all Australians. Here are details about the Airtasker Assistance package and a range of Government stimulus that may be available to Taskers.<\/p>\n<h2>Airtasker Assistance Package<\/h2>\n<p><b>Why is this Airtasker Assistance Package helpful?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To support you through this trying time and in response to the Covid-19 health crisis, Airtasker is pleased to announce that we will be providing you with a once-off Airtasker Assistance Package.<\/p>\n<p>The Airtasker Assistance Package is designed to help you to receive more income from the tasks you\u2019ve completed on our platform. We hope that this financial boost will support you during this trying time and help you to bounce back quickly when this crisis ends.<\/p>\n<p><b>What\u2019s available with this once-offer Airtasker Assistance Package?<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This Airtasker Assistance Package is based on a calculation equal to 50% of Service Fees charged on tasks that are both assigned and completed within Australia between 1 April 2020 and 28 April 2020 (inclusive).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The calculation applies to Service Fees only and excludes any other fees charged to third parties (for example fees paid in relation to Afterpay).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The calculation applies to Service Fees only and excludes any other fees charged to third parties (for example fees paid in relation to Afterpay).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">An \u201cassigned\u201d task means your offer has been accepted by the Poster.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A \u201ccompleted\u201d task means you have completed the task, requested the Poster to release the task funds and have received the task funds.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Airtasker Assistance Package will be automatically calculated by us and sent to you on 30 April 2020.\u00a0 You can expect to receive the payment within 3-5 business days from this date.\u00a0 You do not need to take any action to receive this payment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>For any questions on Airtasker Assistance Package<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you have any questions, please chat with <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/support.airtasker.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Air Support<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Government Stimulus Support<\/h2>\n<p><b>Why is this Government stimulus helpful?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Australian Government has announced measures to help businesses and workers who have been financially impacted by COVID-19.\u00a0 This support includes payments to help individuals, who found themselves out of work, and businesses, who needed a boost to retain employees. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Relevant for Tasker sole traders and casual workers<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b>Coronavirus Supplement<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The supplement is a temporary fortnightly $550 coronavirus supplement from 27 April 2020 if you\u2019re getting an eligible payment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Government has expanded access: JobSeeker Payment and Youth Allowance JobSeeker criteria will provide payment access for permanent employees who are stood down or lose their employment; sole traders; the self-employed; casual workers; and contract workers who meet the income tests as a result of the Coronavirus. This could also include a person required to care for someone who is affected by the Coronavirus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/treasury.gov.au\/sites\/default\/files\/2020-04\/Fact_sheet-Income_Support_for_Individuals.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Factsheet for more information<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>JobKeeper payment for employees<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The JobKeeper payment helps businesses significantly impacted by the Coronavirus cover the costs of their employees\u2019 wages, so more Australians can retain their jobs and continue to earn an income. Your employer will notify you if they intend to claim the fortnightly payment of $1,500 on your behalf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/treasury.gov.au\/sites\/default\/files\/2020-04\/Fact_sheet__JobKeeper_Info_for_Employees.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Factsheet for more information<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><b>Relevant for Taskers who are also part of small businesses<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Australian Government is supporting Australian businesses to manage cash flow challenges and retain employees.
