My RFD602S rangehood had an issue with the fan speed selector. I opened it up and found that it the switch was cracked on the inside causing a loose contact at some speeds. That needs to be replaced. Unfortunately, while I opened it up, I decided to clean up the range hood too. While doing that, I accidentally disconnected 2 soldered wires from the motor. Those need to to be soldered back as well now.
