Dometic RMD8501 built-in Fridge/freezer has stopped working. After connecting to gas, it gave off a strange smell (don’t think it was ammonia; more a pungent burning smell). Turned off the gas and tried on 230volt. Gives error code HE1 implying heating element has failed. Does this explain the smell? Can it be repaired or does it need to be replaced?
